Very true James. My thoughts on a referendum for the Euro are on a guest blog I wrote. You can find it here.

Our democracy would be the greatest democracy if it were in any way democratic!!

Sirs,

Are we not supposed to proudly live in a democracy? When were we ever given the opportunity to vote for Brown to be in power over us? Look at Brown and the Lisbon Treaty for example. Do you think we will be given a referendum on joining the Euro?!

Democracy not Dictatorship. Brown Out Now!

Yours faithfully

Not the first time they will try to shut me up that many of the Civil and public servants should go straight to jial..

Women deserve the same pay as men.. Obama said so too.. I have to to admit that I am very disappointed, for the only new thing that Canada's prime Minister Stephen Harper could do to supposedly help the recessions is to basically copy the same old past Liberal programs and they were not all that great for a start too. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/

I admire that you are full of ambition in the new year, but I must reassure you that you did not split your pants on Boxing Day due to a fat arse... you split them because you were tryong to compete with a much younger man in a game that involved picking up a cereal box with your teeth! I would have this at the top of my 'DO NOT' list if I were you!

heh...i've noticed the same thing about smoking, however, i like it too much (for now, anyway) so i just try not to let it bother me.

re: quaffable red wines...personally, i prefer a nice pinot noir. if it's a good one, it rides the fine line between sweet and dry. my personal favorite is an australian called "little penguin" but i could never find it when i was over there. (although i was in scotland, so maybe you'll have better luck?)

Local newspapers are quite the rubbish for reporting things in an accurate fashion. One has recently allowed the indication that there is only one Scout Group in Kirkham. Yes, there is but not the one they were reporting on! The 'Kirkham' scout group they spoke about is firmly over the border, slap bang in the middle of Wesham... so much so that it is next door to WESHAM community centre. The only KIRKHAM scout group is next to KIRKHAM's allotment's next to KIRKHAM's parish church - anything to do with the Baths? Not really but opening the bath's later at night to make them more accessible to the working person (who hopefully has more disposible income) would add at least a few more bodies in the water... And it might be an idea if FBC updated their website. I refuse to believe the opening times are the same as in Feb 07!
I wish Rural Splash all the best and wish I had the time to help but trying to keep the KIRKHAM scout group from going under is currently taking all my time.
10000 people live in K&W. 10000. If everyone goes 4 times a YEAR that's £144,000pa.
Yep, I'm going to climb back under my rock now.
